SUMMARY:Lecture II: Creating a Classic: Exploring Timeless Collaborations in Architecture & Design
DESCRIPTION:Architecture & Design\nLecture Series\nCreating a Classic: Timeless Collaborations in Architecture & Design\n1 AIA CES Learning Unit|Elective \n  \nCocktail Reception\n5:00 – 6:00 pm\nLecture\n6:00 – 7:00 pm \nModerator: Mitchell Owens \nPanel: Marianne Khoury-Vogt\, Erik Vogt \n\nAuthentic Provence\n6100 Georgia Avenue\, West Palm Beach\, FL 33405\n\n  \nThe ICAA FL Chapter is delighted to offer this unique opportunity to shed light on collaborations within our own membership\, many of which are past Addison Mizner Award Recipients\, as we announce our 12th annual Addison Mizner Award Call for Entries. \nAs moderated by Mitch Owens\, our three lecture panels\, all of which have a history of design collaboration\, will discuss the creative process across the professions of architecture\, interior design\, and landscape. They will highlight their Addison Mizner Award winning projects and others\, and talk about their collaborations over the years through engaging conversation and imagery. \nModerator\n  \nMitchell Owens\nWorld of Interiors\nThe American Editor of The World of Interiors and a Contributing Editor of AD\, Mitchell Owens has written for The New York Times\, Travel + Leisure\, and other international publications. His books include Fabulous! The Dazzling Interiors of Tom Britt (Rizzoli 2017)\, In House (Rizzoli\, 2009)\, John Ike’s “9 Houses / 9 Stories” (Vendome Press\, 2023)\, Alex Papachristidis’s “The Elegant Life” (Rizzoli\, 2022)\, and Thomas Kligerman’s “Shingle and Stone” (The Monacelli Press\, 2022). \n  \n  \n  \nPanel\n  \nMarieanne Khoury-Vogt & Erik Vogt\nKhoury & Vogt Architects\, Town Architects of Alys Beach\nKhoury & Vogt Architects was formed in 2001 in Miami by Erik Vogt and Marieanne Khoury as a practice in architecture and interior design\, urban design\, and town planning. Vogt received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami and Master of Architecture from Yale University. Khoury received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin (after studying for 3 years at L’Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris\, France) and has a Master of Architecture and Master of Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. Both are licensed architects in Florida. \nThe practice\, currently based in Alys Beach\, FL.\, engages projects of a variety of scales\, programs\, and locales. Each is linked by a common purpose: to contribute to\, and elaborate a worthwhile and memorable public realm. This is pursued through a firm grounding in local architectural traditions as well as the deployment and transformation of durable building types. \nTheir work has received numerous regional and national awards as well as publication in several books and magazines. \nIn addition to professional practice\, Erik Vogt has taught Architectural Design Studios at the undergraduate and graduate level\, at the University of Miami and Yale University. \nKhoury Vogt has been members of the ICAA almost since they began their practice in 2001\, and have been mentored by its members in their early careers. They have been awarded the Addison Mizner Award four times over the years for individual design projects. In 2023\, they were honored with the Arthur Ross Award for the body of our work and its contribution to the practice of classical architecture. Their involvement continues to this day with individual participation on state and regional ICAA chapters and juries\, specifically the McKim\, Mead and White award through the NY Chapter and the Jacques Benedict award through the Rocky Mountain chapter.   \n  \n  \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n	\n\n \n  \n \nSpecial thanks to Authentic Provence\, our Lecture Series Event Host\n\n \n  \n  \n  \n  \nWith thanks to our Event Lead Sponsors\n\n  \n \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \nEvent Supporting Sponsors\n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n  \nAnd Event Editorial Sponsors\n  \nTom Maciag and Austen Hart from Dyad Communications\n  \n\n  \n  \n  \nTickets on Sale \n  \n  \nLecture Series Creating a Classic\n \nNov 1\, 2023 – Lecture I: Creating a Classic: Exploring Timeless Collaborations in Architecture & Design \n\nNov 15\, 2023 – Lecture II: Creating a Classic: Exploring Timeless Collaborations in Architecture & Design \n\nNov 29\, 2023 – Lecture III: Creating a Classic: Exploring Timeless Collaborations in Architecture & Design \n  \n  \n  \nWith appreciation and gratitude to our\n \nPatron’s Circle Sponsors\nAlonso & Associates\, Inc.\nCove Construction Group\nFlower Construction \nEvent Lead Sponsor on Interiors\nSciame Homes \nLead Lecture Series Sponsor\nTischler und Sohn (USA) Ltd. \nHenry Flagler Donors\nAmanda Lindroth Interiors \nBelt\nBranca\nFairfax & Sammon\nGil Walsh Interiors\nMarmotech\nShoreline Building Group\nWindow & Door Design Center of Florida \nBecome a Member
