The Florida Chapter of the I.C.A.& C.A. would like to invite you to participate in a day long Tour d'Elégance. This tour will comprise of select site visits , photography, field sketches of select areas and a lecture.

• Knowles Memorial Chapel, Rollins College-tour
• Rollins College tour-sketching and photography
• Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art
• Casa Feliz Historic Home Museum
• Lecture Jack Rogers

Following is an agenda for the days events:

9:00 – 11:00: Gathering at Knowles Memorial Chapel

A brief introduction of the facilitators & days events and a guided tour of the Rollins College campus by Acclaimed Architect Geoffrey Mouen & Clifford G. Duch, ICA &CA Florida Chapter President. ICACA representatives will be at the chapel entrance with agendas, tour maps, suggestions for places for coffee and/or breakfast, etc. Parking on campus might be a problem, but there is a City garage a couple of blocks away.

11:00: - 12:30: Tour, Knowles Memorial Chapel.

Guests convene for a guided tour of Ralph Adams Cram’s Chapel, led by Dean Powell, Dean of the Chapel. Prelude and/or short demonstration of the recently restored E. M. Skinner pipe organ prior to the tour.

12:30 – 2:00: Lunch

Lunch at various restaurants located on Park Ave. in Winter Park. We should have a list and some guidelines available. Most will find Park Ave. shops quaint, charming, and walkable, even to the Morse Museum at the North end of the Park.

2:00 – 3:30: Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art.

The Morse museum features works by 19th C. American Artists and the largest collection of works by Louis C. Tiffany (Lamps, Windows, and Decorative Arts) and notably, the conserved ‘Chapel’ Tiffany exhibited at the 1893 Columbian Exhibition in Chicago.

3:30 – 4:00: Guests progress to Casa Feliz.

4:00 – 6:00: Cocktail reception at Casa Feliz.

Casa Feliz, a recently rescued historic home/museum, one of the numerous Winter Park homes designed by James Gamble Rogers.

Wrap up reception with catered Cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres. Gamble’s son, Jack Rogers, will give a short talk on Casa Feliz, Gamble Rogers, his history and the firm’s work with traditional and classical architecture. Also vendors (number TBD) who helped sponsor the day’s events would be given an opportunity to display and/or discuss their products for the attendees.

Suggested Lodging

Transportation, Lodging, Breakfast & Lunch are not included in this package. There is a charming Inn downtown Park Plaza Hotel Winter Park, Florida and the Mt. Vernon Inn less than a mile away.
